The Iowa Summer Music Camps have added new sessions for 2024!

New this year are Flute and Trumpet!

The Iowa Summer Music Camps utilizes an online registration form and credit card payment system. Please note that payment is due at the time the online registration form is submitted. The student is not considered registered for camp until payment is made.

IMPORTANT: Campers who wish to stay on campus in Catlett Hall as a resident camper should contact Amanda Stout, Administrative Associate for the Iowa Summer Music Camps, at to request a link to the Resident Camper Registration Form. Housing is limited and rooms will be assigned on a "first come,  first served" basis. Once the available rooms have been assigned, no additional resident campers can be accepted.

IMPORTANT: SAXOPHONE STUDENTS should not use this application form. Contact Dr. Kenneth Tse ( directly for information. Dr. Tse will provide the link to the saxophone camp registration form for saxophone campers.


Commuter Camper: Tuition alone = $350.00 (Meals not included)
Resident Camper Option 1: Housing (Double Occupancy)+Meals+Tuition = $640.00
Resident Camper Option 2: Housing (Single Occupancy)+Meals+Tuition = $715.00  

Resident campers will be housed in Catlett Hall, which is an air conditioned residence hall, and a short walk to the Voxman Music Building.

Housing is limited and will be assigned on a "first come, first served" basis. Housing requests will be honored to the extent possible based on room availability, but a student who requests a single occupant room may be assigned to a double occupant room if that is the only remaining room option. If that occurs, the parent/guardian will be contacted for permission to make the assignment and the difference in the cost of housing ($75.00) will be refunded.

Commuter Campers - Wednesday, June 12 for WEEK ONE camps and Wednesday, June 19 for WEEK TWO camps.


Donor Intent: The Brian Cretzmeyer Trust for Young Musicians provides financial assistance to underprivileged, deserving students who demonstrate financial need in order to attend the Iowa Summer Music Camps. These funds could be applied to cover tuition, fees, and housing costs.

Requirements: Must be accepted into the Iowa Summer Music Camps to receive support and demonstrate financial need to attend the ISMC.

Value: The amount of each award is variable, and based on need and availability of funds. Funding resources are limited so applying for a scholarship does not guarantee an award.

Application Deadline: By no later than 5:00PM on Monday, April 22, email a scan of the completed application to Amanda Stout at Recipients of awards will be notified by Monday, April 29.
